Snapshot Labs' former Operation Lead and Support Lead, Metrox, now delves into the world of craftsmanship. With a fully equipped fablab, complete with CO2 laser cutting machines, 3D printers, and CNC, Metrox's entrepreneurial spirit continues to thrive.

Passionate about the Ethereum community, its values, and mission, Metrox envisions creating an object that serves as a beacon, totem, or emblem for the community. Thus, the idea of combining laser cutting and engraving with 3D printing to "float" the Ethereum logo was born.

This Juicebox campaign aims to fund the production of a unique lamp that embodies the Ethereum ecosystem logo. Crafted meticulously in Metrox's workshop, this piece harmonizes the precision of 3D printing with the elegance of laser cut transparent acrylic.

The logo, positioned on either side of the acrylic panel, creates the illusion of floating in the air, presenting an attractive and contemporary visual.

Utilizing laser engraving techniques, the lamp elegantly diffuses light, wirelessly illuminating the Ethereum logo from inside out with a captivating glow. Users can customize the lighting ambiance with a touch-sensitive button offering seven different colors, adapting the lamp to various environments or personal preferences.

In terms of power, the lamp offers versatility, operating either via a provided USB cable for continuous hassle-free use or three AA batteries for enhanced mobility and placement flexibility.

Rewards

Contributors supporting Metrox's project with a minimum of 0.015 ETH will receive the founder edition of the Ethereum lamp, an embodiment of their commitment to innovation and community.

The Future

Looking ahead, Metrox envisions expanding the project to encompass a broader range of crypto-inspired creations, fostering a deeper connection between technology, art, and community engagement. Risks & Challenges

Metrox has already fulfilled a successful 3D printed skull Lamp on Kickstarter back in 2019 and he is confident in the project's feasibility, challenges such as production scalability and timeline adherence are potential hurdles. However, with meticulous planning, continuous communication, and a dedicated team, these challenges can be navigated effectively.

At present, our workshop has a production capacity of 300 units per month. CO2 lasers are highly efficient, and we already have a team of 5 members prepared to handle production and logistics. However, our bottleneck lies primarily in the 3D printing department, which means we can swiftly scale up production to thousands of units monthly by integrating additional 3D printers.

We've created functional prototypes and sent them to selected individuals within the community. The feedback has been fantastic.
